31. 地địa 唎rị 尼ni

師sư 子tử 王vương 兵binh 驗nghiệm 誦tụng 讀độc
Troops led by a lion king verify our chants and incantations,
千thiên 遍biến 萬vạn 遍biến 無vô 量lượng 數số
That number from thousands to ten of thousands to infinite times.
多đa 多đa 益ích 善thiện 功công 圓viên 滿mãn
Amassing goodness through beneficial deeds, our merit is made full
成thành 就tựu 菩bồ 薩tát 勝thắng 果quả 殊thù
And we achieve Bodhisattvahood, reaching levels of supreme fruition.

32. 室thất佛Phật 囉ra 耶da

Quelling all demons so the Proper Dharma can flourish forever,
霹tích 靂lịch 閃thiểm 電điện 鬼quỷ 神thần 驚kinh
A jagged bolt of lightning terrifies ghosts and spirits.
宇vũ 宙trụ 澄trừng 清thanh 妖yêu 氛phân 息tức
The universe clears and is pure as vampires ’ auras subside.
慧huệ 日nhật 高cao 照chiếu 慶khánh 和hòa 平bình
With the wisdom sun shining on high we rejoice in peace.

Such fierce glaring scowls cause the deviant demons to cringe!
威uy 德đức 無vô 邊biên 護hộ 諸chư 佛Phật
Such boundless awesome virtue protects every Buddha!
一nhất 切thiết 眾chúng 生sanh 得đắc 安an 樂lạc
Beings one and all attain both peace and happiness.
菩bồ 薩tát 事sự 畢tất 笑tiếu 哈ha 哈ha
When Bodhisattvas ’ deeds are done they laugh, “ Ho! Ho! ”

平bình 等đẳng 普phổ 濟tế 波ba 羅la 蜜mật
With magnanimous equality he rescues us, expansively perfecting paramitas.
有hữu 緣duyên 眾chúng 生sanh 獲hoạch 揭yết 諦đế
Beings with and without affinities attain gate.

Close their eyes, clear their minds, and chant these true words.
一nhất 念niệm 不bất 生sanh 妙diệu 通thông 玄huyền
When not a single thought arises, the esoteric is penetrated.
三tam 昧muội 加gia 持trì 智trí 光quang 現hiện
With the aid of Samadhi, the brilliant light of wisdom is revealed.
諸chư 佛Phật 稱xưng 讚tán 善thiện 女nữ 男nam
Buddhas all laud praise good men and good women who

The mighty god Maheshvara is bold, yet often cruel.
賞thưởng 善thiện 罰phạt 惡ác 建kiến 奇kỳ 功công
Rewarding good and punishing evil, his merit is outstanding.
普phổ 度độ 群quần 迷mê 登đăng 彼bỉ 岸ngạn
He enables the masses sunk in confusion to climb upon the far shore.
化hóa 利lợi 有hữu 情tình 無vô 始thỉ 終chung
There is no beginning or end to the creatures he benefits and transforms.

Appearing to be good, appearing to be evil, he gathers in all beings.
忽hốt 順thuận 忽hốt 逆nghịch 折chiết 性tánh 靈linh
Now complying, now defying, he subdues our natures.
返phản 本bổn 還hoàn 原nguyên 修tu 諸chư 己kỷ
Returning to the source involves curing our own faults.
摩ma 訶ha 般bát 若nhã 日nhật 夜dạ 明minh
That way, our maha prajna wisdom gets brighter by day and by night.

The Forty-two Hands are wonderful beyond scope or measure.
通thông 天thiên 達đạt 地địa 感cảm 迷mê 蒙mông
Penetrating heaven and earth, they aid and assist the confused.
牌bài 弩nỗ 弓cung 箭tiễn 威uy 神thần 速tốc
Swift is their prowess with shields, bows, and arrows.
強cường 者giả 調điều 伏phục 弱nhược 者giả 興hưng
Bullies are tamed and the gentle get a chance to thrive.

How majestic and courageous, yet kind and compassionate is this great general
調điều 服phục 眾chúng 生sanh 出xuất 迷mê 途đồ
Who subdues and tames us beings so we can leave the paths of confusion.
改cải 惡ác 從tùng 善thiện 修tu 諸chư 度độ
We should change what ’ s bad, follow what ’ s good, and perfect our practice
培bồi 植thực 福phước 慧huệ 悟ngộ 真chân 如như
By developing blessings and wisdom and awakening to True Suchness.

三tam 輩bối 九cửu 品phẩm 生sanh 極cực 樂lạc
Ultimate Bliss is reached through nine kinds of rebirth on three levels.
水thủy 流lưu 風phong 動động 衍diễn 摩ma 訶ha
The Mahayana is expressed in the flowing water and blowing wind.
